About The Position

Gigawatt is developing a modern, AI-forward system of record for electric utilities, encompassing billing, revenue, customer management, and operations. As a Configuration Analyst, you will collaborate with a utility's core team to analyze their business rules and translate them into a functional, validated product. This involves decomposing real-world tariffs, rate schedules, special contracts, and riders, and configuring them within the Gigawatt platform to ensure accurate billing to the penny. This is a hands-on configuration role requiring significant analytical depth, distinct from software engineering or pure business analysis. You will be responsible for the entire configuration lifecycle of each unit, from understanding requirements to final sign-off, utilizing an AI-accelerated workflow rather than manual processes. You will configure a major utility's system of record from its foundation, with AI handling the heavy lifting, allowing you to focus on critical judgment. This role is part of a lean, senior, AI-accelerated team focused on building a scalable function for the utility industry.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of configuration or rules-engine experience, specifically configuring an enterprise platform declaratively (e.g., utility CIS/billing systems like Oracle CC&B or SAP IS-U).
• Domain fluency in utility rate/tariff/billing structures, or transferable experience in rate/pricing/benefits-rules configuration.
• Comfort with analytical and technical tasks, including the ability to read a tariff filing or contract and understand the underlying data model.
• Proficiency with structured data, spreadsheets, light SQL, and working alongside AI tooling.

Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end configuration loop for each unit (party, premise, account, tariff, special contract, rider, etc.), including intake and source collection, decomposition and analysis, authoring the per-object configuration guide, configuring in the platform in dependency order, handing off to QA for parallel-bill validation, and final sign-off and promotion.
• Decompose complex business rules, tariffs (rate schedules), and special contracts into the platform's configuration model using authoring guides and a reusable component library, prioritizing the use of shared components.
• Drive the AI-assisted configuration flywheel by preparing source documents for LLM parsing, reviewing AI-generated price tables, seasonal schedules, and charge formulas, applying human-in-the-loop judgment for low-confidence areas, and providing feedback to improve the tooling.
• Collaborate with the module Solution Architect on model-fit and data-model inquiries, and with the client's rate/billing SMEs to confirm the source of truth and unique requirements.
• Ensure configuration quality by successfully passing parallel-bill-to-the-penny validation against 12–13 months of billed history from a legacy CIS.
• Maintain synchronization of the configuration guide, workbook, and component library, and document all hand-offs.
