About The Position

The Configuration Analyst provides support for client configuration of benefits, pharmacy, and formularies. The role supports intake, design, configuration, and in-unit testing of change requests for assigned clients. The analyst applies pharmacy, formulary, and benefit configuration, meets assigned due dates, and completes workflow activities for Level 1 and 2 tasks. The position requires understanding MedImpact’s claims-adjudication system logic and troubleshooting basic to moderately complex claims-processing issues and customer inquiries. It also involves collaborating with clients and internal partners to clarify, document, develop, communicate, test, and deliver business requirements; validating configuration designs; and maintaining accurate documentation and efficient, sustainable configuration structures. This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with overtime and the ability to work nights, weekends, or holidays as required by business needs. The position works onsite at the San Diego headquarters or another company location, or remotely with management approval based on business requirements. Domestic travel may be required.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) and at least 1 year of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
Ability to run SQL queries and script load.
Ability to gather business requirements and client specifications.
Ability to interact positively with clients, internal business partners, and peers.
Accountability for service commitments and demonstrated ability to achieve results.
Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions and apply common-sense reasoning to standardized situations.
Ability to apply practical arithmetic, percentages, ratios, and proportions, and to interpret bar graphs.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals, and to present information and respond to questions.
Ability to meet the physical demands described, including occasionally lifting or moving up to 25 pounds.
Ability to work overtime and nights, weekends, or holidays as required.

Nice To Haves

Pharmacy Technician License or National Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Configure pharmacy, formulary, and benefit changes specified in submitted change requests.
Meet assigned due dates for submitted change requests.
Complete workflow activities, including preassessment, design, configuration, and in-unit testing of Level 1 and 2 tasks.
Develop an understanding of claims-adjudication system logic, constraints, conflicting benefit configurations, and benefit coding table designs to ensure proposed designs meet intended requirements.
Research and troubleshoot basic to moderately complex claims-processing issues and customer inquiries; respond promptly to service failures, resolve issues, and escalate concerns as appropriate.
Collaborate with external clients, client team members, and internal business partners to clarify, document, develop, communicate, test, and deliver change-request requirements.
Use standardized methodology and document rationale for non-standard designs while avoiding inefficient or unsustainable configuration structures.
Perform in-unit testing and validation to confirm configurations work as expected and meet customer requirements; complete required forms and documentation accurately.
Use project-planning and organizational skills to deliver work on time while prioritizing quality and efficient use of resources to achieve claims-adjudication accuracy.
