As the Conference and Event Manager, you will play a pivotal role in advancing the mission and strategic priorities of the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine. The position will design and deliver high-impact events and build strong community engagement that brings students, alumni, donors, industry partners, and volunteers closer to the college. In this role, you will take the lead in planning and executing national and leadership-level events, on and off-site, for the college. You will manage the planning and coordination of events that anticipate a wide range of occupants, averaging up to 750 individuals. Oversee every detail—from concept and strategy to logistics and on-site execution—ensuring that all events showcase the College of Medicine brand, values, and commitment to excellence. This includes planning and monitoring event performance against established performance indicators, conference and organizational goals and objectives and ensure program results in desired educational outcomes and constituency needs. You will interact with internal and external programs, clients, faculty, staff, students, and project stakeholders to plan and execute the logistics of conferences and events. These include managing event budgets, contract negotiation and execution, coordinating event marketing and outreach efforts. The ability to build relationships and create seamless experiences will directly contribute to the college’s visibility and community engagement. In this multifaceted position, further responsibilities include event management, supervising Event Coordinators, volunteer recruitment and training, managing budgets, assessing risk, and evaluating outcomes.
