Parker Poe is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Litigation Paralegal to support our eminent domain/condemnation practice. This role involves managing case files, coordinating with expert witnesses, conducting discovery both written and deposition, assisting with investigation of claims, and assisting with all litigation and transactional aspects related to government takings of private property. This is a full-time, in-office position located in Atlanta, GA. The typical schedule will consist of 7.5 hours per day equating to 37.5 hours per week. Additional hours (including overtime) may be required as needed. This position will report to the local Office Administrator. There are no direct reports to this position.

Requirements

  • Three or more years of experience as a Litigation Paralegal in a law firm or legal department and an Associate’s degree, or the equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Strong working knowledge of real estate documents and related legal terminology.
  • Proven ability to manage complex litigation files and meeting critical deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management systems.
  • Ability to work independently.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with condemnation/eminent domain cases, real estate disputes, and title matters preferred.
  • Prior trial experience is preferred.
  • Paralegal certification or equivalent professional experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys with all aspects of condemnation matters from inception through resolution.
  • Prepare and file legal documents, including pleadings, discovery, and motions.
  • Coordinate and manage large volumes of case materials, including property records, appraisals, and title documents.
  • Review and summarize deeds, easements, plats, and other real estate documents.
  • Track critical deadlines and maintain case calendars.
  • Communicate with clients, experts (including appraisers and engineers), and government entities.
  • Support trial preparation, including exhibit organization and witness coordination.
  • Conduct basic legal and property research as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned by leadership and assigned attorneys.
