About The Position

The Condemn Room Attendant must accurately verify, weigh, and record all condemn (waste) as well as verify all cardboard combos labeled as condemn (waste). This role works closely with the department supervisors, other department leads, and processing team members, in order to accomplish accuracy within the processing department and to ensure that our customers receive quality products. This position executes processes that ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations, supporting Foster Poultry Farms’ mission, vision, and ACTION guiding principles: Accountability, Collaboration, Truth-Seeking, Initiative, Ownership, and Nimbleness.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work weekends, holidays, varying shifts, and overtime as needed.
  • Must be able to submit and pass a criminal background check, drug screen, and E-verify.
  • Must be able to read and write English legibly.
  • Must be detail oriented and proficient in mathematics.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must have basic computer skills including, but not limited to, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Must have basic knowledge of math functions (addition, subtraction, average, etc.).
  • Ability to communicate with all levels including management.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Decision making ability for the flagging of deviation from procedures.
  • Able to work safely and set an example of safe working habits for their coworkers.
  • Must be able to pass company Forklift assessments to obtain company issued Forklift license.
  • Must wear company provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Nice To Haves

  • Weigh scale operation knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Must verify that all waste/condemn is properly weighed and documented.
  • Must verify that cardboard combos are labeled as “condemn” when being utilized for condemn.
  • Responsible for ensuring red barrels and any unused condemn materials are properly staged and organized throughout the entirety of the shift.
  • Responsible for documented waste/condemn paperwork to the Cook Side Supervisor at the end of shift.
  • All personnel employed or associated with Foster Poultry Farms are responsible for the quality and food safety of company products.
  • The food safety and quality policies are summarized and communicated in a company handbook and at training sessions.
  • Each new hire is provided a handbook and attends a food safety training session before beginning work.
  • All employees attend a refresher training session at least once per year.
  • Records are maintained reflecting the distribution of employee handbooks and attendance at the training sessions.
