About The Position

The Concurrent Enrollment (CE) Coordinator and Academic Advisor II reports to the appropriate campus leader, utilizing exceptional interpersonal skills and in-depth knowledge of the college catalog. In collaboration with campus leadership, this position provides one-to-one student advising and supports the partnership between local education partners and CMC campuses in building and maintaining relationships with school personnel to coordinate all aspects of the CE program. The CE Coordinator and Academic Advisor II assist with on- and off-campus student advising, including testing, student enrollment and registration, reporting and data analysis, and coordination of class offerings. The position assists students with problem-solving and goal identification; analyzes situations and determines required actions; communicates professionally and confidentially with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff, administrators and community partners; keeps detailed and accurate records; works as a collaborative and contributing member of a team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and three years of experience with a diverse student population; or equivalent education and experience that will provide the necessary knowledge, skill and abilities to perform the functions of the position.
  • High School and Post-Secondary experience essential.
  • Knowledge of concurrent enrollment programs, placement procedures and requirements, local high school and college operations desired.
  • Knowledge of higher education degree requirements, and current practices and technology utilized in student services.
  • Ability to provide thoughtful academic, transfer and career advice; interpret and analyze placement data and aptitude assessments.
  • Exhibit exceptional verbal, written, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Effectively speak in public and present educational workshops.
  • Maintain confidentiality, discretion and professionalism.
  • Organize and prioritize work while exercising flexibility, teamwork and humor.

  • This position requires the employee to be a resident of the State of Colorado or obtain residency within 30 days of hire and perform all work duties within the state.

Responsibilities

  • Serves and assists students; assists admissions; registrations; processing and maintenance of student records.
  • Recruits and registers CE students, including conducting orientations, high school registration events, presentations, small and individual meetings and related events.
  • Identifies and promotes concurrent enrollment opportunities for local school district students by sharing information about CMC services and programs.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with local school district personnel; serve as liaison between CMC campus and local education providers.
  • Coordinates with CMC and local school district members with overall CE program coordination and supports academic success of CE students.
  • Prepares and teaches classes and workshops to CE students on subjects such as college success, goal setting, time management, etc.
  • Monitors, communicates, and coordinates standardized testing and grade reports.
  • Collaboration with others including campus personnel, marketing staff, CE and testing coordinators, local education personnel.
  • Coordinates with Accounts Manager on financial and or billing matters.
  • Prepares and maintains documents; coordination; scheduling; monitoring; communicating.
  • Serves as a resource to faculty, staff, and the public regarding programs, activities, and/or college policies and procedures.
  • Participates in collegewide meetings with CE Coordinators, college counselors and other areas as requested.
  • Works with campus academic leadership to coordinate programming and scheduling.
  • Maintains employee records; provides information and/or training; handles front office procedures.
  • Advises students in a one-on-one or group setting, providing high quality guidance, mentoring, and tools for success in college.
  • Interprets placement assessments, co-creates, comprehensive academic plans with students based upon understanding of program requirements, students’ aptitudes and propensities.
  • Select courses and explore transfer institution and career options.
  • Refer students to other appropriate resources if needed for additional support and/or counseling services.
  • Monitors student progress and maintains appropriate records to assist individual students.
  • Provides analytics to guide retention and completion initiatives.
