About The Position

Superintendents are responsible for managing & overseeing the construction job site from day 1 of mobilization until our project scope is completed.

Requirements

  • 10 years of experience in commercial concrete construction
  • 5 years of experience specializing in Tilt Wall construction.
  • Extensive experience in managing personnel, tracking materials, managing labor.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Must have reliable transportation to the workplace(s)/ job location(s).
  • Ability to pass drug screening.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check related to driving (for any driver).

Responsibilities

  • Identifying unsafe working environments, working proactively to correct those conditions, and acting as the Safety Coach for the Team. Daily reporting, JHAs, and toolbox talks are non-negotiable.
  • Studying construction drawings before the start date, all updates as the work progresses, and alerting Project Management to errors before they become a problem.
  • Demonstrating knowledge of a job sequence and how to push a job forward safely and productively while staying within budget.
  • Communicating clear expectations with your Team and our clients during on-site supervision.
  • Proactively managing the job site by maintaining a detailed record of all labor, materials, and equipment and managing the deliveries and schedules to avoid delays. Supervising subcontractors, foremen, and craftsmen to ensure projects are properly executed. Responsible for managing field crews in leadership and utilizing the time clock tool ExakTime.
  • Understanding the quality expectation of Kent Companies’ means and methods to ensure the quality of the final product meets or exceeds the requirements spelled out in our scope of work. Properly laying out all work based on drawings and given survey points.
  • Working with the General Superintendent and the Project Manager to build and maintain a schedule, including updates, changes, and look-a-heads. This includes timely internal and external communication regarding all problems and changes.
  • Being responsible for monthly financial accountability meetings, which clarify schedules to accurately reflect our spending now and in the future for remaining work on site.
