About The Position

Superintendents are responsible for managing and overseeing the construction job site from day 1 of mobilization until the project scope is completed. This role requires a proactive approach to safety, planning, budget management, communication, and quality control. The Superintendent will lead field crews, supervise subcontractors, and ensure projects are executed according to Kent Companies' standards and client expectations.

Requirements

  • 10 years of experience in commercial concrete construction
  • 5 years of experience specializing in Tilt Wall construction
  • Extensive experience in managing personnel, tracking materials, and managing labor
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Must have reliable transportation to the workplace(s)/job location(s)
  • Ability to pass drug screening
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future

Responsibilities

  • Identify unsafe working environments, work proactively to correct those conditions, and act as the Safety Coach for the Team.
  • Conduct daily reporting, JHAs, and toolbox talks.
  • Study construction drawings and all updates to alert Project Management to errors before they become a problem.
  • Manage the job sequence safely and productively while staying within budget.
  • Communicate clear expectations with the Team and clients during on-site supervision.
  • Proactively manage the job site by maintaining a detailed record of all labor, materials, and equipment.
  • Manage deliveries and schedules to avoid delays.
  • Supervise subcontractors, foremen, and craftsmen to ensure projects are properly executed.
  • Manage field crews using the ExakTime tool.
  • Ensure the quality of the final product meets or exceeds the requirements spelled out in the scope of work.
  • Properly lay out all work based on drawings and given survey points.
  • Work with the General Superintendent and Project Manager to build and maintain a schedule, including updates, changes, and look-a-heads.
  • Communicate internally and externally regarding all problems and changes.
  • Conduct monthly financial accountability meetings to accurately reflect spending for remaining work on site.
