We are seeking a Concrete Placer-Finisher to support some of the most innovative, complex, and large-scale data center and mission-critical construction projects in the country. This role will be instrumental in delivering RMCI’s first-generation programs as a General Contractor within hyperscale and enterprise data center environments. As a Concrete Placer-Finisher, you will specialize in the placement, finishing, and maintenance of concrete surfaces in construction projects. Your role is crucial in ensuring that concrete is poured, leveled, and finished to achieve smooth and durable surfaces according to project specifications and quality standards.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a concrete carpenter or in a similar role involving concrete formwork construction.
  • Proficiency in carpentry techniques, including layout, cutting, and assembly of forms.
  • Understanding of concrete mixing, pouring, finishing, and curing processes.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials and working in various weather conditions.
  • Precision and accuracy in measuring, cutting, and aligning forms to ensure quality concrete structures.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to formwork and concrete placement.
  • Proven experience as a concrete placer and finisher in construction or a related field.
  • Proficiency in using concrete finishing tools and techniques to achieve desired surface textures and appearances.
  • Precision and accuracy in leveling and finishing concrete surfaces to meet quality standards.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to concrete placement and finishing.

Responsibilities

  • Build and assemble forms for concrete structures, including walls, columns, beams, decks, and foundations, based on blueprints and specifications.
  • Take measurements and lay out forms accurately according to blueprints and project requirements.
  • Pour concrete into forms and spread it using tools such as screeds and trowels to achieve desired consistency and surface smoothness.
  • Cutting and shaping materials to specified measurements using hand and power tools.
  • Remove forms once concrete has cured and inspect surfaces for defects or imperfections, making necessary repairs or adjustments.
  • Repair and patch concrete surfaces and structures using appropriate materials and techniques.
  • Inspecting completed work to ensure conformance with specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
  • Adhere to all safety standards and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and team members.
  • Cleaning and maintaining tools, equipment, and work areas to ensure safety, efficiency, and longevity of tools and materials.
  • Coordinate with construction teams, including general contractors, concrete finishers, and other trades, to ensure efficient workflow and project completion.
  • Cleaning and preparing surfaces for concrete pouring, ensuring they are free from debris, dust, and contaminants.
  • Assisting in mixing concrete batches using appropriate proportions of cement, sand, gravel, and water.
  • Assist in the preparation and placement of concrete using various techniques such as pouring from ready-mix trucks, using pump systems, or manually pouring and spreading concrete.
  • Use tools such as screeds, floats, and trowels to level, smooth, and finish concrete surfaces to specified grades and textures.
  • Create edges, joints, and grooves in concrete surfaces using hand tools or power tools to enhance appearance and control cracking.
  • Applying textured finishes to concrete surfaces using brushes, brooms, or stamping tools to achieve desired patterns or textures.
  • Monitor and manage the curing process of concrete to ensure proper hydration and strength development.
  • Applying sealants or waterproofing agents to protect concrete surfaces from moisture penetration and enhance longevity.
  • Repair and patch concrete surfaces as needed, ensuring consistency in color and texture with existing surfaces.
  • Adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries, including wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and following safety procedures.
  • Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas to ensure cleanliness and efficiency.
  • Inspecting finished concrete surfaces for defects, ensuring conformance with project specifications and quality standards.
