About The Position

The Concrete Laborer will be responsible for demolition, supporting concrete pouring, setting up forms, and cleaning tools and equipment at job completion. This role involves preparing work areas, grading for proper drainage, moving materials, assisting with concrete finishing, installing fixtures, and maintaining a clean and safe job site. The laborer will also be responsible for adhering to company policies, keeping their supervisor informed of progress, identifying improvement opportunities, fostering teamwork, and upholding company values.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • A minimum of 6 months’ experience as a concrete or landscape laborer preferred.
  • Ability to effectively use technology (mobile phone, computer, email).
  • Must have a current and valid driver’s license in good standing.
  • Ability to obtain DOT certification required.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, including but not limited to safety regulations, blueprints, policy and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to use tape measures, inspection equipment, hand, and power tools.
  • Demonstrated sound judgement, problem solving and decision-making in emotional, difficult, and stressful situations.
  • Strong customer service (internal and external) focus.

Responsibilities

  • Demolition of existing concrete, stone, or asphalt surfaces on job sites.
  • Prepare work areas to maintain a safe and efficient job site.
  • Grading and determining proper elevations for newly installed concrete projects to ensure proper slope and drainage for the property.
  • Move and deliver tools, equipment, and materials to locations throughout the job site.
  • Support concrete pour and assist with stamping, sealing, brooming, and finishing tasks.
  • Install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills, and other fixtures in freshly poured concrete.
  • Clean up job site and workspaces including tools, equipment, and landscaping to leave them with a presentable appearance.
  • Adhere to and maintain compliance with established systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Keep supervisor informed of progress, issues, and successes.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement opportunities for continuous performance and process improvements.
  • Foster a spirit of cooperation and teamwork.
