About The Position

RQ is currently hiring a Concrete Foreman to join our Self-Perform Operations team for active construction projects in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. This role is responsible for supervising and performing concrete and structural carpentry activities associated with commercial construction projects. Duties include layout and installation of formwork and shoring systems, construction of foundations, walls, columns, slabs, stairs, decks, curbs, ramps, roofs, and other structural elements. The position also involves rebar placement, concrete pours, metal framing, drywall installation, and installation of doors, windows, and related building components required to complete the project. The Concrete Foreman will oversee daily field activities, coordinate labor and materials, identify equipment and tool requirements, and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications. Additional duties may vary depending on project scope and operational needs. All work must be performed in accordance with company safety standards and in support of RQ's Mission, Vision, and Values. RQ Construction, LLC has been delivering Design-Build construction solutions since 1996 and has grown from a strong Southern California contractor into a company with both national and international operations. In addition to projects throughout the United States, RQ supports work in locations such as U.S. Naval Base Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and Puerto Rico. Our teams are deployed directly to project locations, providing hands-on field support and construction management nationwide. The company specializes in accelerated commercial construction projects with a strong emphasis on Department of Defense facilities and infrastructure.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of four years of field or trade experience in concrete carpentry and structural forming work, particularly vertical wall forming and elevated slab forming/shoring
  • At least two years of experience serving in a Foreman or supervisory role overseeing concrete trades on medium to large construction projects
  • Experience with scheduling, material ordering, field supervision, production management, quality control, and jobsite safety required
  • Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural construction drawings required
  • CPR and First Aid certification required
  • Bilingual Spanish and English communication skills required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience on government, military, or large-scale commercial construction projects preferred
  • Prior exposure to Design-Build construction environments, quality control, safety procedures, masonry, carpentry, or landscaping is beneficial
  • Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, and internet applications preferred
  • OSHA 30-hour certification and EM-385 training preferred
  • training available if needed (for CPR, First Aid, OSHA 30-hour, EM-385)
