About The Position
Under the direction of the Superintendent/Foreman, a Concrete Finisher will carry out assignments related to concrete placement, finishing, curing, and cutting based on the proper selection of equipment, materials, and finishing sequence needed to deliver an acceptable end product.
Requirements
- Proficient in the use of straight edges to establish grade
- Proficient in the use of bull floats, mops, and highway straight edges
- Proficient in the use of float blades, combo blades, and finish blades
- Proficient in the use of hand tools for floor finishing, edging, and joint tooling
- Proficient in the use of single and double trowel machines
- Proficient in the use of curing equipment
- Proficient in the use of pump equipment
- Proficient in the use of vibratory equipment
- Proficient in the use of walk-behind trowels
- Proficient in the use of double riders
Responsibilities
- Establishes finish grade during the pour of the slabs
- Performs concrete placement and finish, including placing, finishing, curing, and cutting of concrete slabs
- Performs patching and repairing of concrete work
- Performs concrete restoration
- Performs concrete joint treatments
- Performs applications of floor toppings
- Ensures floor finishes meet project requirements consistent with FF/FL terminology
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all tools and equipment required
- Ensures proper maintenance of place/finish equipment and tools
