About The Position

A member of the McCarthy-Bush family of companies, Clinton Engineering (CEC) is a full-service general contractor and recognized leader in construction for the Clinton Community and surrounding areas since 1926. Specializing in design-build, new construction, rehabilitation and renovation of commercial, industrial and municipal projects, CEC boasts a local, experienced workforce who self-perform in variety of trades from carpentry work to concrete paving, steel fabrication & erection, to excavation and more. CEC is currently seeking a Concrete Finisher based in Clinton, Iowa and are excited to connect with candidates who are interested in growing with our team. While this is not an immediate-fill position, we are actively accepting resumes and will begin interviews once a qualified candidate pool has been established. The Concrete Finisher is responsible for ensuring a consistent and high-quality concrete pavement product for our customers. This type of work could include assisting with initial concrete set-up, monitoring string lines, material preparation, and general labor duties.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years experience working in concrete, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Understanding specifications or tolerances on concrete projects (edge slump, vertical face, pavement thickness, profile requirements, etc.)
  • Ability to read and understand documents, write routine reports, and basic emails/correspondence
  • Basic math skills, such as adding; subtracting; multiplying; and dividing whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Team player mentality and the desire to be a part of a successful, hard-working team.
  • Ability to follow both written, oral or diagram instructions and be able to effectively problem solve
  • High school diploma
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical and background check
