Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Minimum of five (5) years of full-time equivalent experience in concrete construction, maintenance, and repair work.
Experience in reading and interpreting engineering plans for curb and gutter, sidewalks, and roadways.
Experience in planning curb and gutter layout from information from survey grade stakes and cut sheets or closely related experience.
Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record based on the City of Hampton’s criteria.
State of Virginia Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B or must obtain the CDL Class B within 180 days of employment.
Ability to pass a background check related to this position prior to any offer of employment or promotion.

Responsibilities

Preparing, maintaining, and repairing concrete projects.
Engaging in a variety of construction and maintenance activities.
Reading and interpreting engineering plans for curb and gutter, sidewalks, and roadways.
Planning curb and gutter layout from information from survey grade stakes and cut sheets.
Serving as essential personnel during City emergency situations or at the direction of the City Manager, which may include long hours and unusual schedules.
