About The Position

Kiewit is looking for a Concrete Barrier Machine Operator for the Southeast Connector Project located in Fort Worth, TX. The Southeast Connector project is an interstate widening and reconstruction project designed to alleviate traffic congestion and improve safety. Major construction on the connector is slated for early 2023, with completion planned for 2027.

Requirements

• Experience operating curb machines, slipform pavers, or similar concrete paving equipment.
• Operate the paver and other heavy equipment in a safe manner.
• Experience reading plans, grade stakes, and string lines.
• Knowledge of concrete placement, paving, and finishing operations
• Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily equipment inspections, safety checks, cleaning, and routine maintenance to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Operate the Paver controls the screed auger, control the hopper, and navigate the direction of the paver.
• Line paver appropriately to the work area, and ensure proper application of the concrete to the desired height, width, and depth.
• Train new employees in the safe and efficient operation of the Paver.
• Work harmoniously, cooperatively, and courteously with others at all times.
• Follow directions and instructions from supervisors.
• Work in a variety of weather conditions, including temperatures ranging from over 85 degrees to below 40 degrees.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
• Observe and comply with all safety and project rules, perform other duties as required.
