About The Position

Kiewit is looking for a Barrier Concrete Finisher Journeyman for the Southeast Connector Project located in Fort Worth, TX. The Southeast Connector project is an interstate widening and reconstruction project designed to alleviate traffic congestion and improve safety. Major construction on the connector is slated for early 2023, with completion planned for 2027. Kiewit is one of North America’s largest and most respected construction and engineering organizations. Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of concrete finishing experience
• Prior experience finishing slipformed concrete barrier
• Experience placing and finishing concrete on highway, roadway, or other heavy civil construction projects
• Skilled in concrete paving and finishing work, including bridge decks, roadway slabs, flatwork, or concrete barriers
• Familiarity with concrete finishing tools and equipment
• Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing

Nice To Haves

• Carpentry experience preferred
• Ability to complete tasks in a noisy and dusty environment
• May require DL

Responsibilities

• Finish faces and tops
• Repair surface defects
• Maintain the required barrier profile
• Work safely alongside a moving slipform operation and keep pace with production
• Coordinate work with paving, form-setting, and labor crews
• Read and follow project plans, elevations, and grade information for concrete placement and finishing
• Observe and comply with all safety and project rules
• Perform other duties as required
