About The Position

The Salvation Army EastView Residence is an Independent Senior Living facility located in the East Harlem section of Manhattan. Residents are provided with living accommodations in studio and one-bedroom units in a modern building facility completed in 2019. The Salvation Army EastView Residence is seeking a friendly, outgoing and professional individual responsible for front desk reception duties, answering and directing calls, delivering messages, greeting guests and performing the responsibilities noted.

Requirements

High level of professionalism and personal standard of a positive attitude, behavior and appearance
Must be able to communicate effectively and provide outstanding service with the ability to speak clearly and distinctly
Be sensitive to resident needs and the ability to build positive relationships
Able to prioritize, organize, problem solve and meet deadlines and goals
Able to deal with emergencies calmly and effectively
High School diploma or equivalent
One-year experience in a receptionist/customer service-related position
Must be honest, fair, dependable, respect confidentiality and the rights and privacy of others
Must possess strong work ethics, honesty and integrity
Must have effective interpersonal skills and excellent written and oral communication abilities
Must have proficiency in Word, Excel and in designing printed and digital material

Responsibilities

Sort and distribute mail.
Process packages
Send and Receive Faxes charging the appropriate fee as applicable
Answer and transfer phone calls
Handle requests for maintenance and repair work orders
Prepare and replace access room cards for residents
Maintain records lists and rosters up to date
Assist in filing and record-keeping
Assist with Marketing duties as needed
Make copies for staff and residents charging the appropriate fee as applicable
Perform clerical and other duties as assigned by management
Communicate with security personnel any disturbances requiring intervention, and notify management of any situations requiring their intervention
Call 911 in case of any emergencies
Assist with digital and printed notices as required
Keep track of residents’ overnight visitors including arrival and departure dates
Maintain “Informed Consent and Waiver of Liability” Forms for residents participating in fitness activities and programs
Be the center of information assisting residents as needed
Perform other duties as assigned by management
