About The Position

Edison Properties is a property management company with over 50 years of experience, providing apartments for rent in the Winnipeg market. The company is committed to giving back to the community and prides itself on delivering quality customer service based on care, respect, and integrity. They are seeking a permanent, full-time Concierge Agent to maintain the interior and exterior of one of their residential buildings, ensuring it remains clean, attractive, and in safe, operational condition. This position reports to the Resident Manager and may serve as their backup during short-term absences. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, capable of effective problem-solving in stressful situations, adheres to an on-call schedule, and acts as a primary point of contact for tenants.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication and effective problem-solving skills
  • Detail-orientated and self-motivated
  • Must be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts as required.
  • Overtime may be required outside normal hours of work to accomplish duties during periods of heavy work requirements
  • Must be physically capable of performing the duties of the position (i.e., unload heavy items/equipment/supplies, work from ladders, push/pull large and heavy containers, etc.)
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check

Nice To Haves

  • Prior working experience of 1-2 years in property management is considered an asset
  • Previous customer service experience is considered an asset
  • Previous caretaker experience is considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional, friendly service at the concierge desk; greet residents and visitors warmly.
  • Receive, log, and distribute packages, deliveries, and mail.
  • Supporting the Resident Manager through assisting with move-ins, building cleaning and maintenance, providing backup for short periods of absence.
  • Assist with booking building amenities (e.g., gym, party room, guest suites).
  • Promote on-site amenities and provide information about local services and attractions.
  • Coordinate with maintenance, housekeeping, and property management teams to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Cleaning the interior and exterior of the property including garbage disposal, snow clearing, and maintenance of common areas such as the lobby, gym/spa, hallways, and parking areas. Adhering to cleaning schedules and standards.
  • Working in all types of weather conditions including extreme cold during the winter months to ensure snow clearing is complete and safety sand is applied to all high traffic areas.
  • Provide emergency support for the building after regular business hours.
  • Completing security checks, for example monitoring “no parking zones,” checking common areas after hours.
  • Assisting with basic maintenance as required.
