A Day in the Life:
The Concessions Specialist is responsible for opening and closing duties, operating both the hot and cold service lines, and preparing drinks and menu items according to standardized recipes and procedures. This role also operates the point-of-sale (POS) system to accurately create and close customer transactions, handles cash responsibly, maintains knowledge of all menu items and promotions, and delivers exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate is adaptable, responds quickly to changing priorities, and thrives in a fast-paced environment while meeting the evolving needs of both the organization and its customers.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED required.
• One-year prior work experience in a high-volume kitchen or beverage service environment required.
• Food Handler Card (or Food Handler Certificate) required.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills required.
• Must be able to handle food items safely and properly in a kitchen environment.
• Understanding of retail and cash handling operations required.
• Ability to learn/use POS software (for use with food service in a restaurant environment).

Nice To Haves

• Experience in customer service and/or retail preferred.

Responsibilities

• Opening and closing duties
• Operating both the hot and cold service lines
• Preparing drinks and menu items according to standardized recipes and procedures
• Operating the point-of-sale (POS) system to accurately create and close customer transactions
• Handling cash responsibly
• Maintaining knowledge of all menu items and promotions
• Delivering exceptional customer service
• Completing food preparation procedures according to written instructions
• Ensuring paperwork and data entry is completed accurately and legibly
• Multitasking and handling multiple, simultaneous orders
• Keeping necessary items and supplies adequately stocked and understanding their uses and applications
• Continuing to expand knowledge of staff dietary needs and restrictions
• Assisting drivers with loading and unloading orders
• Performing cashier duties; operating the register, completing customer transactions, and cash handling
• Performing routine inventory checks and creating vendor orders as necessary
• Maintaining knowledge of all available menu items, their ingredients, and their preparation methods
• Creating daily or weekly special menu items and ordering necessary items to execute them properly
