About The Position

Levy at American Airlines Center is seeking a motivated, dependable, and detail-oriented event-based part-time Prep Cook to join our Culinary team. This role is responsible for preparing high-quality ingredients and menu items while ensuring all food is produced safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company recipes, food safety regulations, and presentation standards. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced kitchen environment and is committed to delivering an exceptional dining experience for our guests.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) to two (2) years of experience in a high-volume restaurant, hotel, catering operation, stadium, arena, or event venue preferred.
  • Valid ServSafe Food Handler Certification (or the ability to obtain within the required timeframe).
  • Knowledge of food preparation techniques, knife skills, and food safety practices.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Flexible availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare food items according to standardized recipes, production schedules, and quality standards.
  • Assist with ingredient preparation, portioning, labeling, and storage while following FIFO and HACCP guidelines.
  • Ensure food is prepared, plated, and served at proper temperatures with consistent presentation and portion control.
  • Taste prepared food items to verify quality and consistency.
  • Maintain accurate production records and follow established ticketing procedures during service.
  • Clean and sanitize workstations, kitchen equipment, refrigerators, storage areas, and food preparation surfaces.
  • Properly store or discard food products in accordance with food safety regulations.
  • Safely operate and maintain kitchen equipment while reporting maintenance or safety concerns to leadership.
  • Assist with inventory, receiving deliveries, stocking supplies, and production planning as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all company safety and sanitation standards.
  • Build positive working relationships with chefs, managers, and fellow team members.
  • Attend required food safety, operational, and workplace safety training.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
