About The Position

As a Concession Food Handler at Keeneland Hospitality, you are responsible for safely preparing, handling, and serving food and beverage items in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The role supports front-of-house and back-of-house operations, ensuring quality, cleanliness, and efficiency in accordance with Keeneland’s standards and health regulations.

The position includes concession stand opening, operating, and closing duties, including cleaning and inventory. Food handlers must follow safety, uniform, grooming, sustainability, and hygiene practices, as well as applicable Fayette County and state food-safety requirements. Flexible availability is required, including nights, weekends, holidays, and special events.

Requirements

• Previous food service or food handling experience is preferred.
• Ability to follow detailed food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Customer-focused attitude and clear communication skills.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift or push up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, holidays, and special events.
• A valid Fayette County Food Handler’s License is required for all food and beverage staff and must be obtained before the first scheduled shift.
• A Kentucky Horse Racing Commission license is required for all track workers; Keeneland will provide this license upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food using kitchen equipment.
• Handle food in accordance with Fayette County and state health and safety guidelines.
• Follow food storage, sanitation, and preparation procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness of food preparation and service areas, including workstations, utensils, and equipment.
• Restock supplies, ingredients, and condiments as needed.
• Work with cashiers and other team members to fulfill orders promptly and accurately.
• Dispose of waste and food safely, following Keeneland’s sustainability and hygiene practices.
• Support concession stand opening, operating, and closing duties, including cleaning and inventory.
• Perform other duties assigned by a supervisor.
• Comply with Keeneland’s safety, uniform, and grooming standards.
• Assist with receiving, loading, and unloading deliveries.
