About The Position

The Concessions Coordinator supports and assists the Concession Manager and Assistant Manager with the day-to-day operations of the Concessions department, including training, supervising staff, and monitoring service delivery, hospitality, and fan experience. The Concession Coordinator, under the direction of the Concession Manager, is responsible for controlling quality in work performance and product output and maintaining policies and standards as based on Compass Group Canada (CGC) / Levy company standards. The Concession Coordinator supports the frontline team to execute CGC/Levy service standards while contributing to creating exceptional fan experiences, new menus and providing feedback to the Concessions Manager in a safe, sanitary work environment, which conforms to all CGC / Levy standards and regulations and achieves profitable, competitive quality products.

Requirements

  • 2 to 3 years of Food and Beverage experience is required.
  • 2 years of managerial experience required.
  • Experience scheduling staff based on operational needs.
  • Able to communicate effectively with management team, guests and associates by speaking and comprehending English. English reading, writing, math and computer skills required.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor, and motivate staff.
  • Exhibits initiative, responsibility, flexibility and leadership.
  • Availability to work regular extended shifts of 10 hours or more as business dictates. Must have flexible schedule to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Proficient in computer services such Microsoft Office as well as capability and willingness to learn internal systems both retail and tech systems.
  • Advanced Food Safety Certification.
  • Smart Serve Certification required.
  • Valid Ontario Driver’s License.
  • WHMIS Certification.
  • First Aid/AED/CPR Certification - All employees are responsible and accountable for Levy health and safety policy. All employees at every level should be familiar with the requirements of the local Provincial Occupational Health and Safety legislation as it relates to their work processes.

Responsibilities

  • Champion food quality, menu relevance, innovation, and culinary standards for Concessions delivery.
  • Ensure consistency of brand execution while allowing for local market and client customization.
  • Lead continuous improvement in guest experience and satisfaction metrics.
  • Ensure operational excellence through standardized processes, KPIs, and best practices.
  • Support large-scale initiatives, transformations, and change management efforts.
  • Address performance gaps decisively and drive corrective action where required.
  • Serve as a key F&B partner to all stakeholders and internal leaders.
  • Represent the organization externally with clients, partners, and industry groups.
  • Promote a strong culture of safety, quality assurance, and risk management.
  • Ensure all compliance / audit scores are met based on audit frequency required, implement corrective actions, and continuous compliance improvement.
  • Actively involved in all aspects of Health and Safety.
  • Oversees all Concession, Quick Serve and Frictionless activations, including assisting in disciplinary and performance management where applicable.
  • Oversee the setup of all concession locations including organization and cleanliness.
  • Coordinate with third party vendors and sponsors.
  • Produce inventory sheets for concessions and assist in tracking inventory for all work areas as assigned; on an event and monthly basis.
  • Build and maintain a strong working partnership with all stakeholders, focused on fan engagement and delivery of memorable guest experiences.
  • Collaborate with the Warehouse department to ensure all areas are replenished to meet service needs.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with managers and co-workers to accomplish goals and ensure compliance with company service standards and inventory control procedures.
  • Schedule concession staff according to needs, budget and declining balance. Collect staff availability. Input schedules into UKG software.
  • Review employee attendances and use progressive disciplinary actions when needed. Act as main point of contact and liaison for all concession staff. Answer emails and messages.
  • Serve as liaison between HR and staff to help resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Review timecards for payroll daily.
  • Divide and redistribute all debit and credit tips received according to the tip policy.
  • Assist with developing par levels accounting for sales mix and history.
  • Assist with balancing and consolidating sales on various points of sales systems.
  • Assist accounting department in correcting void errors, while coaching supervisors, team leads, and cashiers on reducing error rates and inefficiencies.
  • Assist the Concessions Assistant Manager in developing floor plans for portables to accommodate special events and concerts.
  • Assist with training for supervisors and all concession staff for set up and event days.
  • Lead pre-shift meetings for supervisors on event days. Outline goals and expectations for all supervisors on set up and operation of concessions daily.
  • Participate in pre-game, operations and production meetings as required.
  • Ensure all signage for portables and concessions is up to date and pricing is correct.
  • Ensure placement of stanchions, condiment cart set up, and verify that concessions are stocked.
  • Inform staff of any new policies and procedures; enforce company policies, procedures and safety regulations. Enforce progressive disciplinary actions when needed.
  • Co-ordinate and direct supervisors on the completion of various tasks. Walk the floor and assist Supervisors and Team Leads as needed.
  • Possible added recruitment responsibilities periodically: including attending large-scale job fairs to promote the department, conducting interviews, making hiring decisions, and training new staff.
  • Assist Concession Assistant Manager with office tasks.
  • May involve assisting in or leading special projects as delegated by the Director of Operations or Director of Concessions.
  • Update POS Employee Files as needed and provide unique login info for each employee.
  • Collaborate with IT to communicate and fulfill concession needs.
  • Elevate operational execution, through team engagement and best in class service delivery.
  • Provide strong leadership, direction, and decision-making ability to direct reporting team members.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with guests, subcontractors, clients and Compass associates.
  • Ensure security, safety, and sanitation standards are achieved and follows and enforces responsible alcohol service policies.
  • Use engagement strategies to recognize, motivate and celebrate individuals and teams delivering outstanding performance throughout location.
  • Hold strong attention to detail, ability to solve problems, openness to collaborate and communicate, build positive culture, as well as a driven attitude to as aspects of the position.
  • Ensure that all food is prepared and served in compliance with CGC / Levy standards along with provincial health authority standards.
  • Ensure that frontline staff are equipped with the tools that they need to execute the food service.
  • Work with HSQA manager on adhering to CGC/Levy mandated policies, procedures, safety and sanitation standards and training. Ensure all Safety Talks are completed and submitted.
  • Assist in the development and implement department specific SOPs.
  • All other duties as assigned by the Concessions Manager, Concessions Assistant Manager, Senior Director Concessions and / or the Director Operations or their designate.
