COMSEC RESPONSIBLE OFFICER Join SpaceX as a COMSEC Analyst and take ownership of key COMSEC disciplines that directly support the security of our launch vehicles, satellites, and ground systems. This role offers the opportunity to implement creative security solutions while ensuring national security requirements are met without slowing the pace of innovation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree; OR 3+ years of professional experience in COMSEC or a security field in lieu of a degree
  • 1+ years of experience in COMSEC or a security field
  • Must be willing to work in a classified environment
  • Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed
  • This position requires successfully obtaining and maintaining a Top Secret Security Clearance as a condition of employment.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful, permanent resident, Refugee, or Asylee, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of experience with CNSSI 4005 & 4001, NCSM Vol. 2, NSA/CSS Manual 3-16, and related COMSEC policies and procedures
  • 1+ year of experience with systems including International Association of Privacy Professionals (iApp), Key Management Infrastructure (KMI), CARDS, CORE, and Distributed INFOSEC Account System (DIAS)
  • Experience preparing security deliverables and identifying creative solutions that protect national security
  • Strong ability to work across departments and interface effectively with customer counterparts
  • Experience presenting to leadership and determining work priorities independently
  • An active clearance may provide the opportunity for you to work on sensitive SpaceX missions; if so, you will be subject to pre-employment drug and random drug and alcohol testing

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage COMSEC accounts, key issuance, and destruction procedures
  • Perform and oversee self-inspections, inventories, and compliance activities to company standards
  • Operate, troubleshoot, and configure End Crypto Units including the KG-175 suite, KGR-42, and KG-250 suite
  • Prepare COMSEC deliverables such as security plans and key management plans with limited oversight
  • Interface with customer counterparts at the security execution level and present to leadership
