We are looking for a highly skilled Computer Vision Data Engineer with practical experience in building and maintaining computer vision data pipelines. The ideal candidate possesses strong ETL expertise, is comfortable working with images, videos, and associated metadata, and understands how to design efficient, scalable processing systems for high-volume media data streams.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience with any of the following: Proven experience building and maintaining computer vision or media-centric data pipelines.
  • Strong ETL background involving complex transformations, metadata generation, and media normalization.
  • Hands-on experience with any of the following: – NiFi (data flow management) – Prefect (workflow orchestration) – Docker (containerization) – FFmpeg (video and audio processing) – OpenCV (image processing and analysis)
  • Experience working with images, videos, and related metadata structures.
  • Familiarity with distributed systems and scalable data processing patterns.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Java (core development)
  • Experience with KLV metadata extraction (e.g., 0903, 0601).
  • Familiarity with computer vision model deployment, training workflows, or deep learning frameworks.
  • Exposure to streaming media systems or real-time video processing.
  • Knowledge of cloud environments and orchestration platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes).
  • Detail-oriented, curious, and comfortable working in fast-moving technical environments.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to partner across engineering, data science, and product teams.
  • Someone who enjoys building reliable, high-impact systems that enable computer vision capabilities at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain end-to-end data pipelines for computer vision workloads, including ingestion, transformation, and delivery of image, video, and metadata assets.
  • Implement and manage automated workflow orchestration using NiFi and Prefect.
  • Develop high-performance media processing services and tools using Java, FFmpeg, and OpenCV.
  • Containerize and deploy data services using Docker.
  • Collaborate closely with computer vision engineers, MLOps, and platform teams to ensure data readiness and pipeline reliability.
  • Optimize processing steps for speed, accuracy, and cost efficiency.
  • Establish monitoring, logging, and testing strategies to ensure pipeline stability and data quality.
