About The Position

Provides direct services to instructional and administrative personnel in the setup, operation, preventive maintenance and repair of computer hardware, software and technology-related equipment located within the school division. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TYPICAL TASKS: Primary Duties: Work as an integral member of the technology support team. Install, configure and support networked computer hardware, operating systems, and all applicable application software for devices including, but not limited to, Windows-based hardware, chromebooks, iPads, and classroom A/V equipment. Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair networked computer systems hardware and software. Work effectively in a help desk software system to prioritize, track, and close support tickets in an efficient manner Maintain accurate inventory records of hardware, software, and replacement parts Communicate technical issues, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions clearly to both technical and non-technical staff Secondary Duties: Provide staff with support in the operation of computer-based technology. Assist in evaluating, testing, and recommending appropriate technology for use in the educational environment. Other duties as assigned by the Supervising Network Engineer and/or Director of Technology

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a technical support or related field
  • Experience installing, configuring, optimizing and troubleshooting local and network applications
  • Experience using and supporting Google Workspace for Education platform
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair Windows, Apple iOS, and Chrome OS and hardware
  • Ability to create, maintain and deploy disk imaging systems
  • Ability to independently research and resolve technical issues using self-research, vendor help desks, and other resources
  • Ability to terminate, test and troubleshoot network connections
  • Ability to function as an integral member of a team
  • Ability to complete tasks independently and with a strong work ethic
  • Ability to deliver excellent customer service and maintain patience in demanding technical situations while supporting a diverse group of staff
  • Ability to initiate and sustain multiple projects in a dynamic environment while changing priorities as necessary
  • Ability to articulate effectively in both oral and written form
  • High school diploma required.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver computer and electronic equipment, climb and work from ladders, and perform other physical tasks as required by this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with VOIP systems desired
  • Degree/certification in electronics, computer technology or industry relevant related field strongly preferred.
  • Industry certifications strongly preferred (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar).
