About The Position

The Computer Technician installs, repairs, and maintains district computers and related equipment. This role involves performing installation of various computer operating systems and desktop applications, maintaining and troubleshooting all AV and related equipment, and performing annual cleaning and preventive maintenance of all district computer equipment. The technician will also manage Active Directory computers, utilize remote management technologies and imaging software, and maintain duties assigned through the work order system. The position requires the ability to communicate and work well with school staff, be self-motivated, multitask, and possess good time management skills. The role also involves extensive travel to district sites as assigned and may require some weekends and evening hours, with the incumbent being on call for support services during off hours.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • A minimum of 6 months of successful, verifiable work experience in the field of computer installation and support or equivalent education.
  • Experienced with the full family of Windows operating systems.
  • Experience installing and supporting variety of software, Microsoft Office, Adobe
  • Experience with various browsers for use with internet-based software
  • Experience management of Active Directory
  • Experience with a wide range of AV equipment
  • Must be able to communicate and work well with school staff.
  • Must be self-motivated and work well without direct supervision.
  • Must be able to multitask and possess good time management skills.
  • Must be able to work well with others in a team environment.
  • Must have a valid current Texas driver’s license and an acceptable driving record

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Previous computer system assembly, configuration and repair experience desired.
  • A+ certification preferred.

Responsibilities
