About The Position

The Computer Systems Technician II is responsible for assembling, configuring, testing, and troubleshooting complex, high-performance server systems. This role requires advanced technical expertise, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment. The Computer Systems Technician II also serves as a mentor to Technician I staff, supports quality assurance initiatives, and contributes to process improvement efforts.

Requirements

  • Expert understanding of server hardware, components, and assembly procedures.
  • Experience installing and supporting server operating systems.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies and enterprise computing environments.
  • Strong networking knowledge, including server connectivity and infrastructure concepts.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex hardware and system issues.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Nice To Haves

  • CompTIA A+ and/or Server+ certification preferred.
  • Two (2) to five (5) years of relevant computer hardware, server assembly, or data center experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, configure, and test high-performance server systems.
  • Install, configure, and validate complex hardware components and peripherals.
  • Perform advanced hardware installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
  • Conduct rigorous quality assurance inspections and system validation testing.
  • Mentor and train Computer Systems Technician I staff on assembly procedures, best practices, and quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate production, inventory, and quality control records.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and productivity.
  • Follow established safety procedures and company policies.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and training to Computer Systems Technician I staff.
  • Support quality assurance processes and assist in maintaining departmental standards.
  • May provide technical direction and workflow assistance as assigned.
