About The Position

We are seeking a technically skilled individual with a passion to learn and solve problems to join our enterprise team as a Computer Systems Engineer. In this position, you will be focused on modernizing our existing infrastructure to align with the State’s evolving AI and cloud-centered priorities. You will be involved in supporting load balancing, application delivery, virtualization, and cloud technologies. Responsibilities include maintaining these technologies in our on-premise data centers and cloud environments. This position is responsible for collaborating with team members to design automated solutions that will provide better services to our customers, working across state agencies to facilitate enterprise-aligned solutions based on their needs. As a customer service–focused organization, we provide centralized services, specialized support, and practical solutions to state agencies, boards, and commissions, as well as local governments across Montana. Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in information technology, networking, or a related field and 2 years’ experience supporting midsize to large enterprise IT environments (Level 1)
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, networking, or a related field and 3 years’ experience supporting midsize to large enterprise IT environments (Level 2)
  • AWS cloud infrastructure and services
  • VMware virtualization and infrastructure
  • F5 BIG-IP application delivery and security technologies including WAF
  • Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Linux server administration
  • Enterprise infrastructure administration
  • Enterprise networking concepts (IPv4 addressing, DNS, VLANs, NAT, firewalls)
  • Processing tickets and changes in ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms

Responsibilities

  • Deploy, configure, secure, maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade enterprise infrastructure.
  • Support load balancing, application delivery, virtualization, and cloud technologies.

  • Collaborate with team members to design automated solutions.
  • Work across state agencies to facilitate enterprise-aligned solutions based on their needs.
  • Process tickets and changes in ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms.
