About The Position

Southern Company Services is seeking a Computer Systems Analyst II to support its Energy Management Systems (EMS) department. The role supports compliance and quality assurance activities for Transmission EMS, with a primary focus on patch management, user provisioning, access administration, internal controls, and change management. The analyst also supports compliance documentation, risk assessments, controls testing, and audit activities.

Requirements

3–5 years of relevant IT, systems analysis, infrastructure, security, or compliance experience.
Working knowledge of computer system infrastructure and IT operations.
Working knowledge of IT security concepts and internal controls.
Familiarity with change management processes.
Working knowledge of Active Directory.
Understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM).
Knowledge of user account administration, security groups, permissions, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), and least-privilege principles.
Working knowledge of patch management, vulnerability management, and system maintenance.
Familiarity with IT risk assessments, internal controls, controls testing, and audit requirements.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Nice To Haves

Experience supporting Energy Management Systems (EMS) or utility technology environments.
Experience with patch management coordination.
Experience supporting access provisioning and de-provisioning.

Responsibilities

Support overall compliance and quality assurance activities for Transmission EMS.
Coordinate weekly patch management meetings and follow-up sessions.
Track patching status and ensure required actions are completed.
Maintain documentation for compliance and audit requirements.
Analyze patching and access data to identify compliance gaps.
Perform controls and validations to ensure established processes are followed.
Identify process efficiencies and recommend improvements.
Support change management activities, including communications, process reviews, and implementation coordination.
Serve as backup for user provisioning and de-provisioning activities.
Grant and revoke system access within required timeframes.
Track password changes and access-related activities.
Review supporting evidence provided by subject matter experts.
Administer or support user accounts, security groups, permissions, roles, and access profiles.
Ensure access follows role-based access control and least-privilege principles.
Maintain accurate records for security reviews, audits, and compliance assessments.
Support risk assessments, controls testing, and internal and external audit activities.
