About The Position

The Computer Service Technician is responsible for the repair, troubleshooting, maintenance, and support of computer hardware and related technology equipment within an educational environment. This role requires a strong understanding of computer systems, operating systems, peripheral devices, and networking fundamentals. The technician will diagnose and resolve technical issues, install and configure equipment, and maintain positive working relationships with various stakeholders.

Requirements

  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in computer hardware repair, troubleshooting, maintenance, and support is required.
  • Thorough knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, peripheral devices, mobile devices, printers, networking fundamentals, and diagnostic software.
  • Ability to diagnose, repair, install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, tablets, printers, and related technology equipment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with school stakeholders, district personnel, vendors, state and federal agencies, and the general public.
  • Strong organizational, communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple work orders while meeting deadlines.
  • Possession of a valid Louisiana driver's license.
  • Ability to travel throughout the district as required.

Nice To Haves

  • An Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Repair, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in a K-12 educational environment is preferred.
  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, Dell, HP, Lenovo, or other relevant technology certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, tablets, printers, and related technology equipment.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with school stakeholders, district personnel, vendors, state and federal agencies, and the general public.
  • Prioritize multiple work orders while meeting deadlines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
