ASRC Federal Advanced Research LLC (AFAR) is seeking a Computer Scientist to join its Tower Data Link System (TDLS) team supporting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). TDLS is a National Airspace System automation system that delivers digital pre-departure clearances and other terminal services directly to flight deck crews and airline dispatch computers, reducing lengthy voice read-backs over congested radio frequencies. This is a full-time, on-site position at the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The role involves researching, designing, developing, testing, evaluating, and maintaining integrated computer hardware and software systems. The Computer Scientist will support software development and systems integration across the full software design lifecycle, from requirements gathering through production, and develop software that interfaces with external devices. The position also involves system debugging, reviews, audits, and testing. Candidates must be U.S. citizens, have resided in the United States for three consecutive years, and possess a Real ID driver’s license/ID or current U.S. passport to pass the Federal Background Investigation and obtain the FAA Public Trust security clearance. Candidates must reside or be willing to relocate within commuting distance of the MMAC in Oklahoma City. Non-U.S. degrees require a U.S. equivalency certificate at the time of application. Travel is less than 10% and as needed by the FAA customer. The work environment is a cubicle, with a standard flexible work schedule.
