About The Position

AnaVation is seeking motivated undergraduate students for its 2027 Summer Internship Program. This ten-week paid internship offers opportunities in software design, coding, debugging, cybersecurity, and data science. The program is remote, with potential for in-person collaboration for the San Antonio, TX-based team. Interns will engage in mentoring, learning activities, and project work, gaining exposure to a government contracting small business and IT development. Assignments will encourage customization and creativity, providing a practical business experience. The program includes a Lunch & Learn series with company leadership and professional development workshops.

Requirements

Must be a US citizen eligible for a US Government security clearance (sponsorship available for successful candidates).
Computer Science Major with a targeted graduation date of May 2028.
Excellent analytical and math skills.
Ability to work effectively in teams.
Minimum 3.0 grade point average.
Computer literacy, proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite.
Demonstrated work ethic, goal-orientation, and history of academic success.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Critical thinking, leadership, teamwork, and self-management as a learner.

Nice To Haves

Experience with a group programming project.
Experience with Agile Processes, particularly Scrum.
Proficiency in Java and Python.
Experience with Front End and/or Back End development.
Experience with NodeJS.
Experience with GIT.
Experience with Cloud Systems (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Experience developing software projects as a hobby.

Responsibilities

Apply cybersecurity techniques for offensive and defensive missions.
Create custom software applications, from ideation through development and testing.
Develop technology demonstrations using commercial cloud infrastructures like AWS and Microsoft Azure.
Assess new application ideas.
Research competitor offerings.
Develop applications through coding and programming, culminating in a prototype demonstration to company leadership at the end of the internship.
