Computer Science Internship Summer 2027
About The Position
AnaVation is seeking motivated undergraduate students for its 2027 Summer Internship Program. This ten-week paid internship offers opportunities in software design, coding, debugging, cybersecurity, and data science. The program is remote, with potential for in-person collaboration with the San Antonio, TX-based team. Interns will gain exposure to a government contracting small business and IT development through mentoring, learning activities, and project work. Assignments will encourage customization and creativity, providing a practical business experience. The program includes a Lunch & Learn series with management and technical leaders, as well as professional/career development workshops.
Requirements
- Must be a US citizen with ability to obtain a US Government security clearance.
- Computer Science Major with targeted graduation date of May 2028.
- Applicants should have excellent analytical and math skills, with the ability to work in teams.
- Minimum 3.0 grade point average
- Computer literacy; proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite
- Demonstrated work ethic, goal-oriented, and history of academic success.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, critical thinker, leader, team player, and self-managed learner
Nice To Haves
- Experience with a group programing project.
- Experience with Agile Processes especially Scrum
- Proficient in Java and Python
- Experience with Front End and/or Back End development.
- Experience with NodeJS
- Experience with GIT
- Experience with Cloud Systems (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Developing software projects as a hobby.
Responsibilities
- Cyber Security techniques for offensive and defensive missions
- Creating custom software applications; including, idea, development, and testing
- Developing technology demonstrations leveraging commercial cloud infrastructures (Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, etc.)
- Assessment of new application ideas
- Research competitor offerings
- Develop applications (coding, programming) as team and demonstrating a prototype at the end of the internship to company leadership.
