About The Position

NDI Engineering Company is seeking a candidate with a degree in electrical or computer engineering or computer science to join our team and assist with supporting the US Navy. The role involves leveraging expertise with Microsoft Office Suite to develop macros and tools for data analysis and maintenance, working with large datasets, and integrating them into various management tools, databases, and reports. Familiarity with PowerQuery for data consolidation and Power BI reports is also required. The position includes performing automated and manual testing, supporting PowerApps and SharePoint databases by building custom apps, and developing/maintaining Power BI reports. Additionally, the role involves assisting with generating meeting briefs, installing and configuring software, hardware, and networks, ensuring IT infrastructure security and efficiency, monitoring system performance, identifying system requirements, installing upgrades, maintaining and upgrading web systems, creating data backups, performing account setups, tracking emerging technologies, and applying security patching and STIGs of OS's.

Requirements

Degree in electrical or computer engineering or computer science.
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in from an accredited college or university in Computer Programming, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
Minimum Experience: Seven (7) years of professional experience in computer design, software development or computer networks.
At least three (3) years with Power BI/Power Apps.
VMware environment (vCenter, vSAN, vSphere, etc)
Virtual Machines technology
Containerize software platforms (OpenShift)
Linux server and client software
Microsoft Windows server and client software
Networking practices and protocols
Scripting languages (PowerShell, Shell Scripting)
DOD System Hardening (DISA STIG process)

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Access, Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate)

Responsibilities

Leverage expertise with Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Access, Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate) to develop macros and tools to analyze and maintain data for programmatic needs; efforts include work with large data sets that will be integrated into different management tools, databases and reports.
Additional familiarity or ability to learn to use PowerQuery for data consolidation between Excel Spreadsheets and with PowerBi reports.
Perform Automated and Manual Developmental and Operational Testing, such as PowerAutomate flows to schedule file refreshes.
Develop and support the maintenance of PowerApps and Sharepoint databases by building custom apps that connect to data stored either in the underlying data platform (Microsoft Dataverse) or in various online and on-premises data sources (such as SharePoint, Microsoft 365, Planner, PowerApps, Power Automate).
Development and maintenance of PowerBi Reports and use of PowerQuery in Excel and PowerBi to assist with data integration and analysis aspects from other parts of the statement of work.
Assist with generating meeting briefs. Meeting briefs are typically generated in Microsoft Power Point but depending on the nature of the meeting/brief, the medium may vary.
Install and configure software, hardware and networks.
Ensure security and efficiency of IT infrastructure.
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues.
Identify system requirements and install upgrades.
Maintains, secure and upgrade a web system.
Create a backup and safeguard the data.
Perform account setup for new and old employees.
Track emerging technologies and implement them in the organization.
Apply security patching and STIGs of OS’s.
