About The Position

Chimes is seeking a Computer Programmer to develop, test, document, and maintain programs and scripts from approved specifications. This is a remote position open to candidates in the United States. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.; Chimes does not provide visa sponsorship. AbilityOne Program participants are encouraged to apply, but participation is not required. Requirements

• At least three years of experience writing, modifying, testing, debugging, or maintaining computer programs and scripts.
• Experience with at least one modern programming language and associated development, testing, debugging, and source-control tools.
• Experience using database queries, APIs, or program interfaces to retrieve, process, and exchange data.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not provided.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Relevant programming, software development, database, or platform certifications.
• Degrees or certifications in computer science, data science, or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Review approved specifications with developers, analysts, engineers, and project managers to clarify requirements.
• Create, modify, and maintain secure, testable code and scripts for applications, interfaces, data processing, and automation, including database queries and API interfaces.
• Develop and run unit and regression tests; support integration and user-acceptance testing; debug program logic and data-processing errors; and implement approved fixes and enhancements.
• Document program logic, code changes, interfaces, test results, release steps, and maintenance procedures.
• Participate in peer code reviews, security reviews, release-readiness checks, and change-control activities, and support approved builds, releases, and ongoing maintenance.
