This opportunity resides with Warfare Systems (WS), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. Warfare Systems comprises cyber and mission IT; electronic warfare; and C5ISR systems. Mission Technologies is searching for an experienced Computer/Network Security Systems Specialist  to join our team in Fort Belvoid, VA. HII’s Mission Technologies division is dedicated to delivering cutting-edge solutions that advance national security and defense objectives. This role is part of a current proposal scheduled to start in 2026.  Salary range based on backgrond, skills, experience and education.  Network 3 : $ 106,681- $ 198,121 Network 4 : $ 132,989- $ 246,980

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance (IA), or relevant IT degree with demonstrated coursework related to cybersecurity or information assurance. Additional 4+ years of relevant experience allowed in lieu of degree allowed
  • 10+ years of cybersecurity or information assurance experience, with at least 2+ years leading cyber or IA personnel or teams
  • Must meet the minimum credential requirements for the DoD 8140 Cyber Workforce work role Security Architect (652) at the advanced level:
  • B.S. degree in one of the following fields: Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or Software Engineering
  • Cisco CCNP Enterprise
  • ISACA CISM
  • ISC2 CISSP-ISSAP, CISSP-ISSEP
  • GIAC GCIA, GDSA, GICSP
  • Active TOP SECRET clearance with eligibility for SCI

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications and/or experience in Zero Trust preferred
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust principles, concepts, methodologies, and approaches as laid out in CISA’s Zero Trust Maturity Model and NIST SP 800-27 Zero Trust Architecture.
  • Developing and implementing industry best business practices through secure networking protocols, standards, processes, and procedures that align with Federal, DoD, and U.S. Army policies and regulations.
  • Configuring, troubleshooting, administering, and maintaining the hardware and software required to effectively manage network security toolsets across Enterprise systems.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, engineering, implementing, and maintaining solutions in secure processing environments that adhere to DISA STIGs and/or Security Requirement Guides.
  • Demonstrated experience configuring, operating, and maintaining vulnerability scanning tools, and evaluating/reporting on system misconfigurations, non-compliance, false positives, and baseline deviations.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible working with network architects and operations personnel to secure and assure US Army information and communications systems.
  • Will analyze site survey reports, recommend network modernization upgrades, craft network architectures, and assist operations leads in creating deployment plans and executing capability roll outs.
  • The job requires direct interaction with US Army, DoD, and other USG personnel including briefing technical plans and adjusting architecture requirements to fit US Army acquisition and supply chain requirements.
