About The Position

The Computer Lab Aide is responsible for maintaining the operation of the computer lab, providing recommendations for software purchases, and supporting classroom instruction with technology. This role involves assisting students and teachers with software applications, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and preparing documentation related to lab activities. The aide also coordinates student testing and ensures a safe and positive learning environment within the lab.

Responsibilities

Assists students and teachers with software applications and computer technology to complement classroom instruction.
Attends workshops and seminars to stay updated on computer and software advancements.
Coordinates student testing, including setting up labs, troubleshooting software, and monitoring students.
Coordinates with students, teachers, and technical support personnel to maintain computer lab operations.
Installs computer software applications for student and teacher use.
Monitors student internet usage and computer lab behavior to ensure a safe and positive learning environment.
Prepares documentation such as daily usage logs, reports, requisitions, instructions, and memos.
Researches software applications and provides recommendations for student-appropriate software.
Troubleshoots hardware and software problems, performs updates, and maintains applications to ensure lab functionality.
Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
