About The Position

Metropolitan Family Services (MFS) is seeking a full-time Computer Lab Monitor to join their Calumet/Altgeld Team. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of the digital resource center and assisting participants.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • 2 years' experience required
  • Must possess basic computer skills.
  • Must be a self-starter, have integrity, and ability to work independently.
  • Good customer service, oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to render adequate service to clients and to organize and manage job effectively.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and groups.
  • Satisfactorily pass all relevant screenings and criminal background checks.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and intern navigation desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors all participants working in the digital resource center and ensures participants are complying with the rules of the digital resource center.
  • Behave in a professional manner treating all participants with courtesy and respect.
  • Opens and closes DRC daily.
  • Maintains daily sign in sheets of participants utilizing the DRC.
  • Maintains the reservation process for other agencies/partner's needs.
  • Assist participants with printing, saving and retrieving documents, general software troubleshooting, and/or direct resources which may be of assistance.
  • Reports and documents any instances of misuse or damage of computers and equipment to the supervisor immediately.
  • Submits tickets to CHA information technology services department help desk for issues related to hardware/software and computer/printers.
  • Performs basic maintenance such as changing toner cartridges, loading paper and clearing paper jams.
  • Cleans equipment (monitors, computers, and desks) daily or as needed.
  • Assist in the receiving and distribution of office supplies and monitors inventory level.
  • Answers incoming calls, ensures messages are given to the appropriate individuals, welcome visitors, and responds to routine inquiries related to the DRC.
  • Works within contract, grant, and program requirements including meeting timelines and reporting requirements.
  • Facilitates monthly digital literacy affiliated programming.
  • Attend mandatory funder program meetings and trainings.
  • Required to work one late night monthly and two Saturdays within the year.
  • Other duties assigned.
