About The Position

The Computer Forensic Examiner I will be responsible for assisting the Computer Forensic Examiner II and III by keeping track of requests that come into the team. Assisting in retention compliance and performing technical work regarding all aspects of digital forensics. Requirements

  • Graduate of a college or university with an associate's degree in computer science, information services, data communications and networks, digital forensic studies or a related field.

  • Additional experience working with computers and/or digital networking devices will substitute for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license to qualify for employment in this job classification.
  • Applicants for employment with the Office of the Attorney General must be 21 years of age and are subject to the provisions of KRS Chapter 15 and 503 KAR 1:140 relating to peace officer certification as administered by the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council.
  • Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification.

Responsibilities

  • Logging and keeping track of agency requests for the Forensic Investigation team.
  • Reviewing collected case data to verify compliance with retention schedules.
  • Assisting with the collection of Data for Agency preservation requests.
  • Assist in troubleshooting issues with Collection tools.
  • Communicating and working with the staff and management.
  • Take initiative to learn the Forensic tools used in the branch.
