About The Position

SeaLandAire Technologies is a defense contractor in Jackson, Michigan, seeking a Computer Engineer to join their growing team. The company specializes in engineering, building, and field testing prototypes and products for data collection applications in challenging environments, contributing to national security. This role involves a rapid development cycle, taking concepts to prototypes, with each engineer participating throughout the entire process from concept to field testing. The Computer Engineer is integral to the team, focusing on circuit design, firmware development, and system integration. Collaboration is key, with project teams comprising electrical, computer software, mechanical, and acoustic engineers, as well as support staff, all working towards innovative concepts and reliable implementations that meet customer requirements. Key contributions include sensing, control, signal processing, and communication functions. Customer interaction and feedback implementation are essential for mutual success.

Requirements

  • Applicants must be a "U.S. Person" (U.S. Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident).
  • A background check will be conducted for employment purposes.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer engineering is required.

Responsibilities

  • Work in project teams to solve technical problems with hardware/firmware design solutions
  • Take hardware solutions from concept to prototype
  • Write embedded C code, with a focus on code reliability and clarity
  • Control and document development with a version control system
  • Work within existing design constructs when updating/optimizing existing designs
  • Test and verify hardware/firmware through rigorous design verification testing and field testing
