About The Position

Valkyrie Enterprises is seeking a Computer Engineer to support the design, integration, and operation of real-time laboratory test systems in our Huntsville, AL engineering facilities. The ideal candidate has experience working with hardware/software integration, real-time operating environments, and laboratory test equipment.

Requirements

• Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field and at least 8 years of experience in computer engineering.
• Must have experience with hardware/software integration or real-time systems development.
• Must be proficient in Linux systems.
• Must have programming experience with C/C++ or similar compiled languages.
• Must have the ability to debug hardware/software interoperability issues.
• Must have strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Must have the ability to document designs, procedures, and technical results.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with real-time operating systems or simulation environments, preferred.
• Experience using tools such as GDB, Git, and VS Code (or similar IDEs), preferred.
• Familiarity with integrating instrumentation or test equipment in lab environments, preferred.
• Experience with high-speed I/O interfaces (PCIe, Ethernet, etc.), preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and development of real-time test and simulation systems.
• Integrate hardware components, embedded systems, and laboratory equipment with real-time software environments.
• Configure and operate real-time system frameworks, test executives, and simulation tools.
• Develop and maintain software used for system control, data collection, and diagnostic functions.
• Integrate high-speed I/O devices such as PCIe cards into Linux or real-time operating systems.
• Troubleshoot system-level issues involving hardware, software, and interfaces.
• Assist with test planning, execution, data analysis, and reporting.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams (hardware, software, test, systems).
• Maintain system documentation, configuration records, and lab procedures.
• Coordinate with vendors and customers for equipment, technical support, and system integration.
