Performs a variety of procedures applying ionizing radiation and CT scans as directed. Communicates effectively with physicians and other healthcare personnel. This position is bonus eligible. Responsibilities include identifying patients and procedures, communicating with nursing and physicians, informing nursing of patients needing IV sedation or biopsies, filling out questionnaires for specific age groups, accurately positioning patients for CT procedures, knowing and performing scanning protocols, archiving films, preparing and stocking rooms, cleaning tables and trays, using proper technique for IV contrast injection, proficiency in filming from imaging workstation, 3D imaging and multiplanar reconstruction, responding to emergencies, explaining procedures to patients and families, obtaining patient history, informing patients of delays, training co-workers and students, assisting other technologists, acquiring requisitions, charging procedures and supplies, indicating no-film badge wearing name and fluoro time, operating the PAC's system, reporting equipment problems, completing appropriate forms, filling out contrast sheets, communicating with radiologists to determine appropriate protocols, performing scans as directed, demonstrating recognition of anatomy and pathology, performing warm-up calibrations, maintaining competency, performing point of care testing, and performing other duties as assigned.
