About The Position

The Conrad Company, a fast-growing, award-winning family-owned business located in the Mid-Atlantic Region, is looking for a Compressor Maintenance Technician to join the Compressor Maintenance Company based out of Westminster, MD. The Technician will serve customers through installing, servicing, diagnosing, and repairing compressed air, vacuum, and nitrogen systems.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and some vocational/technical related education preferred
  • Industrial Electro-Mechanical experience required
  • Must be a self-starter and able to perform assigned tasks efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to read and interpret P&ID’s (Process and Instrumentation Diagrams).
  • Must have keen computer knowledge
  • Must be able to read, interpret and understand manufacturers’ equipment manuals.
  • Must have a clean driving record and pass a DOT physical.
  • Willing to continually learn through online training, company training, and manufacturer service schools.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to customer's site, sometimes with little notice, to perform the required repairs and services.
  • Perform system preventive maintenance.
  • Provide a professional overall report that encompasses the customers total system during the visit all to maintain a high performance and efficient system.
  • Perform failure analysis of failed parts or components, report findings to management, and assist with corrective actions to reduce risk or eliminate reoccurrence of failure.
  • Diagnose system failures efficiently, facilitate repairs of equipment in the field in adverse conditions without supervision.
  • Electrical Proficiency troubleshooting / working with anything from relay logic, variable frequency driven equipment, master control systems, communications.
  • Work closely with team members to provide customers unified support that allows the customer to focus on their business.
  • Communicate with team members, suppliers, and customers to resolve problems, utilizing technical, verbal, and written skills including a wide variety of computerized software and tools.
  • Installation of new systems including commissioning and start-up inspections.
  • Perform mechanical inspection(s) using micrometers, pressure gauges, electronic diagnostic equipment, and other specialty tools.
  • Conduct proper coupling alignments, and a variety of other complex functions critical to successful operation of compression equipment.
  • Decipher P&ID, plan and electrical drawings, installation and operation instructions, procedures and specifications, and technical bulletins and manuals.
  • Must recognize and comply with Health, Safety and Environmental rules and policies that are applicable to each location.
  • Submit accurate field service reports, expense reports, and other necessary paperwork daily.
  • Daily travel is required with an occasional overnight stay.
  • The ability to work weekends and be on call for emergency breakdowns.
