About The Position

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
  • Successful completion of an accredited Ophthalmology residency program.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Ophthalmology.
  • Current California physician licensure or eligibility to obtain California licensure.
  • Demonstrated competency in comprehensive/general ophthalmology.
  • Training and clinical competency in cataract surgery.
  • Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making capabilities.
  • Excellent patient communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a physician-led multidisciplinary environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive ophthalmologic evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of patients.
  • Diagnose and manage common and complex ophthalmic conditions within the scope of a general ophthalmology practice.
  • Perform cataract surgery and other appropriate ophthalmic procedures.
  • Manage preoperative and postoperative care for surgical patients.
  • Maintain an approximately 80% clinical and 20% operating-room practice mix.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings and patient needs.
  • Utilize advanced ophthalmic diagnostic and surgical technologies.
  • Collaborate with physicians, technicians, nurses, and other clinical professionals.
  • Educate patients regarding diagnoses, treatment alternatives, procedures, recovery, and ongoing eye health.
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation.
  • Follow applicable clinical, patient-safety, regulatory, and professional standards.
