About The Position

The Division of Enrollment Management at UC Irvine is seeking a Comprehensive Review Reader. This role involves applying seasoned education professional skills to identify potential students and independently review admission applications. The reader will use professional judgment to determine if applicants meet admission requirements, considering various factors, and will also recommend program improvements. The Office of Undergraduate Admissions aims to recruit, admit, and enroll high-achieving, talented students from diverse backgrounds who will contribute to the campus community and foster research and innovation.

Requirements

• Thorough knowledge and experience working with a diverse student population.
• Working knowledge of the UC application process.
• Skill in organizing and setting priorities that accurately reflect the importance of the job responsibilities.
• Ability to work in a remote environment.
• Ability to use web-interface systems.
• Knowledge of and experience in conducting intersegmental relations for the purposes of participating in the comprehensive review process.
• Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience.

Nice To Haves

• Thorough and comprehensive knowledge of academic programs, including curricula, admissions requirements, at colleges / universities and specifically at UC, and / or specific colleges and schools.
• Working knowledge of UCI's comprehensive review policies and procedures.
• Theoretical knowledge of basic principles and concepts regarding University policies and procedures.
• Knowledge on educational systems outside of California.

Responsibilities

• Identify potential students.
• Independently review applications for admission.
• Use professional judgment in determining whether an applicant meets the requirements for admission, taking into account a variety of requirements.
• Recommend improvements/modifications to the program.
