This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week, with a schedule of Monday-Friday from 8 am to 4:30 pm and Saturdays from 9 am to 1 pm. The role involves assisting licensed pharmacists in technical duties related to medication preparation and distribution, including handling hazardous drugs and controlled substances. Responsibilities also include screening phone calls, managing pharmacy procurement and inventory, performing nonsterile compounding and sterile IV admixture following USP standards, inspecting medication storage areas, completing medication admission histories, and assisting in training other pharmacy technicians. The role requires adherence to all organizational policies, legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards, and supporting area leaders. Additional duties include patient demographic information collection, data entry, insurance verification, label generation, cashiering, and developing competence in third-party billing functions. The position also requires demonstrating knowledge and skills appropriate for the age of patients served, potentially obtaining immunization certification, and operating an Advocate Health-owned motor vehicle for medication delivery.
