About The Position

In this role, you will report to the Territory Area Manager and will work closely with the Avantor’s Advanced Laboratory Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science. Location: Waltham, MA, with a future relocation to Cambridge, MA, mid-2026. Shift: Monday - Friday, Mon – Fri, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm (hours will vary depending on the lab you are working in). Avantor’s Advanced Laboratory Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience in laboratory operations, sample management, or compound handling preferred
  • Familiarity with laboratory systems, automation platforms, and inventory tracking tools
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Previous experience in a GMP-regulated facility strongly desired

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily intake, preparation, and shipment of compound samples (solid and liquid), ensuring accuracy and timely delivery to support research activities.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for sample-related requests, managing workflows, and providing timely updates to internal teams and collaborators.
  • Maintain accurate compound inventory records, including labeling, documentation, and system updates, to ensure full traceability throughout the sample lifecycle.
  • Utilize laboratory automation tools and informatics systems to execute workflows, including liquid handling and compound storage technologies.
  • Partner with onsite and global teams to align priorities, coordinate activities, and ensure consistent execution of sample management operations.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve workflow efficiency, turnaround times, and overall service delivery.
  • Perform all activities in accordance with safety, quality, and operational standards, ensuring adherence to best practices and regulatory requirements.
