About The Position

Manheim Township is seeking a reliable individual to join our Public Works team as a Compost Site Attendant. This role involves managing point-of sale transactions and verification of quantity and type of material for disposal in accordance with Compost Site regulations.

Requirements

• Must be capable of occasional heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.).
• Able to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Some bending, pushing, and pulling may be required.
• Proficient use of hands and fingers is essential.
• Clear communication, vision, and hearing are necessary.
• Reliable individual.

Responsibilities

• Check vehicle type and quantity/type of material to ensure it is acceptable for disposal at the Compost Site.
• Determine the fees to be charged in accordance with a posted fee schedule.
• Process cashless payments using an automated credit card/debit card payment system after determining the applicable fee based on the posted fee schedule.
• Demonstrate polite and courteous manner towards customers and coworkers.
• Follow proper safety procedures.
