About The Position

The Berklee Composition Department is hiring a Communications Department Student Assistant. This role is part of the Student Employment program, which provides opportunities for students to work part-time on campus to help meet living expenses. The program offers over 900 positions ranging from 10 to 15 hours per week, as well as daily opportunities for project-based temporary employment, contributing to professional and educational growth.

Requirements

Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program.
Summer employment requires pre-registration for the upcoming fall semester if not enrolled.
Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).
Remain in “valid” Visa status as applicable.
A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. (Students in their first semester can work without an official GPA).
Federal Work Study student may apply.
In good disciplinary standing.
Must be located in the U.S.
Strong writing/proofreading skills for newsletter
Punctual, organized and self-motivated
In-touch with Composition Department activities
Fluency in Poster design software (Canva)

Innovative ideas for social media (Instagram and Facebook)

Responsibilities

Proofread Weekly Newsletter
Attend Department events for social media documentation (Concerts, masterclasses, etc.)
Spearhead initiatives to increase engagement on Department social media pages
Share Department announcements on social media (Facebook, Instagram)
Support on campus events as needed (setup, breakdown, hang posters around campus, etc).
