About The Position

Performs repairs in a FAA approved Repair Station on Boeing 787 and Airbus A350 aircraft. Works to structural repair manuals, component maintenance manuals, aircraft maintenance manuals, and other approved repair instructions from manufacturer or airline customer. Performs maintenance, repair, and overhauls to structural and non-structural fiberglass, acrylic, composite, and metal parts. Works from approved repair manuals, documents, process specifications, quality control requirements, and drawings. Fabricates assemblies, reworks, and repairs non-metallic parts, assemblies, and aircraft using knowledge of non-metallic materials and bonding techniques. Performs rework and repair using electronic media including work instructions, model-based definitions, specifications, and MRB dispositions. Verifies dimensions of parts using mechanical and electronic precision measurement tools. Performs first article inspection of procured or fabricated parts and assemblies. Uses CAD/CAM tools or similar tools to support fabrication, manufacture, or rework to engineering configuration. Prepares and maintains quality records.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3)) to comply with ITAR regulations.
  • 5+ years of experience in composite repair.
  • Experience with taper sanding techniques.
  • Experience with composite lay-up processes.
  • Experience with septum core removal and replacement capabilities.
  • Experience on Boeing 787 and Airbus A350 platforms.
  • Ability to work from approved repair manuals, component maintenance manuals, and structural repair manuals.
  • Ability to use precision measurement tools including mechanical and electronic instruments.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required personal certifications.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
